In June 2020, Romain Quidant (Carnot Fellow 2002) joined ETH Zurich as Full Professor of Nanophotonics and director of the Nanophotonics System Laboratory. His research activities, at the interface between Photonics (the science of light) and Nanotechnology, combines basic science with applications to different sectors, including biotechnology, ultrasensitive force sensors and miniaturized reconfigurable optics.
